For a while I’ve been thinking about Karl Poppers and the theory of knowledge through of as leap frogging as opposed to the knowledge pyram
The classic knowledge pyramid places data at the bottom of the pyramid and then builds on top of it with information, knowledge and even eventually wisdom. Each stage is build on top of the other much like a step pyramid. The way to progress in this mental model is to add additional segments to the pyramid starting with some new data or some new information and building on top of what we already have in order to really reach wisdom.
The leapfrogging theory knowledge works slight differently. As people are in the act of learning new things
they increase their momentum through the acquisition of new information and data and they are able with this momentum, or speed at which they are learning, to blast past the old knowledge to a new area of discovery.
Plant a flag there and there you have new knowledge. Yours for the taking.
If this model works better then the act of learning new things (the unknown) and speed at which you learn (momentum) are better indicators that you reach new knowledge (or wisdom). The less you know at the start of a project and the greater the momentum you can generate through out it, the greater your chances are to leapfrog into new areas.
